Matt and Tracy Waller, are the proud owners of Shaen Street Motel + Cafe since early 2022. For years, they drove past this historic gem, with Matt often remarking about owning it someday. Well, fast forward a decade or two, and here they are, living the dream!

When they finally acquired the motel, their vision was clear: preserve its rich history and unique charm. With its original 70s retro vibe, the motel has undergone a thoughtful renovation, blending nostalgia with modern comforts. Our guests affectionately describe it as retro and cute - a true testament to its enduring appeal.

Nestled on a rise just 100 meters from the site of the historical first landing in 1839, Shaen Street Motel holds a special place in local lore. Established in 1964 and named after the inaugural settlers' landing spot, it continues to honor its heritage. And for those seeking an extra touch of history, the original 1860s cottage behind the motel is also available for booking!
